A new ad campaign from the water brand Liquid Death takes a lighthearted satirical approach to the topic of alcohol and pregnancy, in an ad showing women using an alternative to alcohol to celebrate their pregnancies. We hope that viewers of the commercial will take to heart the message that pregnancy is indeed a time of celebration and that celebration need not involve alcohol to be fun and exciting. We certainly hope that there is no confusion or misunderstanding.

The 9th International Research Conference on FASD, hosted by FASD United, just wrapped up on Sunday, capping off an impactful four days of programs featuring the leading experts on FASD from around the world. Over 50 sessions with representation from over 15 countries truly made it a diverse international experience. The pre-conference kicked off with a focus on stigma and the conference featured a wide array of interactive sessions and expert presentations on topics such as the language around FASD diagnosis and the role of paternal alcohol exposure. Experts shared their latest research findings on everything from new intervention tools and the impact of policy change to FASD and mental health, along with the latest scientific biomedical research.
Throughout the conference, the feeling of connection and community gave attendees a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration. Organizations from all over the world took the opportunity to showcase their incredible work. Researchers, scientists, families, advocates, and clinicians came together in a shared space, forming new connections and strengthening bonds of collaboration.
The FASD United team was honored to host the conference and present at several sessions.
