Proof Alliance NC Training Program

Proof Alliance NC Training Program

The Proof Alliance NC training program was created to address the misinformation surrounding prenatal alcohol use and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) by providing training to help build FASD informed organizations and communities across our state.

The primary goals of the training are to prevent alcohol-exposed pregnancies, as well as increased awareness of the need for early identification, interventions, and support for individuals with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.

Training Modules

All modules contain a prevention component to align with our grant guidelines. The modules were created in partnership with Proof Alliance and are evidence-based and sourced. Four of the modules are heavily weighted in prevention; the remaining modules include both prevention and support components. Each module can be delivered in-person or virtually; trainings can be up to two hours in length, depending on the needs of the requesting entity. All trainings are free of charge.

The substance use prevention and treatment module has been approved for NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board (NCASPPB) credit hours.

All requested certificates will be issued upon the participant’s completion of PANC’s training evaluation.

Meet Our Training Team

Proof Alliance NC’s training team is comprised of 15 volunteers who have received over 40 hours of prevention and FASD-focused training through Proof Alliance and received their FASD certification in May of 2022. All volunteers hold professional positions with either prevention or support organizations across North Carolina. Trainers participate in continuing education; they also attend quarterly virtual meetings to receive FASD updates and stay connected with fellow trainers.
