“In honor of National Prevention Month, Proof Alliance NC is proud to officially launch the We Have The Proof website. This new resource is designed to share facts about alcohol and pregnancy, raise awareness of FASD, and highlight ways we can work together to prevent alcohol-exposed pregnancies. The site makes prevention accessible through: evidence-based information, alcohol-free drink recipes, a pregnancy calculator, and highlights from a statewide media campaign.”

Heavy Drinking Linked to 50 Per Cent Higher Risk of Unintended Pregnancy

 “Women who drink heavily are significantly more likely to experience unintended pregnancies. While the study doesn’t explain why alcohol use leads to higher pregnancy risk, factors like impaired judgement, reduced contraception use and riskier sexual behavior could be possible contributors.”
