Proof Alliance Research Project to Develop Effective Programs for Biological Mothers/ Birthing Parents of Children With Confirmed or Possible FASD

Proof Alliance is partnering with Wilder Research to improve support programs for biological/birthing parents of children with FASD.  They hope to better understand barriers to accessing services, develop inclusive and stigma-free recruitment messaging, and identify types of supports preferred by this cohort of caregivers. This interview will take roughly an hour, and participants will select from a variety of $50 electronic gift cards from Wilder Research for their time. You do not need to be a previous Proof Alliance program participant to be interviewed- and you may live out of state.

If you are interested in being interviewed or want more details about the project, please reach out to Mia Vang at miamoua [DOT] vang [AT] wilder [DOT] org.

Prenatal Maternal Alcohol Exposure During the First Trimester of Pregnancy in Relation to Early Learning Ability, Behavioral Problems, and Autistic Traits

“As expected, our findings suggest that PAE-First Trimester(FT) is associated with adverse behavioral development of children regardless of Autism Spectrum Disorder status. However, PAE-FT may exacerbate autism-specific developmental problems and learning difficulties in children with ASD.”

FASD United Shares Resources for Alcohol Awareness Month

This April, FASD United recognizes Alcohol Awareness Month.  We can all do our part to reduce PAE.  Partners can offer support by avoiding alcohol themselves and supporting healthy alternatives.  As a community, we can work together to reduce PAE by raising awareness, connecting pregnant people to resources, and encouraging supportive relationships.
